Auchincloss intends to make his first priority increasing access to COVID-19 testing and promoting legislation that is science-based. He wants to provide federal aid for public schools and "be a champion for jobs and a green economic recovery" in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Auchincloss strongly supports protecting and expanding the ACA. He does not support Medicare for All, saying, "Health care should be a right, and I would support a bill that gets us to universal access. But I would not support doubling the federal budget and eliminating private insurance for the 85% of Americans who have it, in one fell swoop. We need to take a hybrid approach, to begin, that includes a robust public option."
Auchincloss believes that marijuana policy should be left to the states. In 2016, Auchincloss voiced his opposition to Massachusetts' ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana.
Auchincloss attended a political rally with Sen. Markey in support of urgently expanding medication-assisted treatment to help save lives. He also supports federal government support for wrap-around services for mental health. He supports safe consumption sites.
Auchincloss supports allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and allowing importation of drugs from Canada and other countries, a faster approval process for genetics and price transparency from pharma. He does not support federal government manufacturing generics.

Auchincloss is pro-choice. As a member of Congress, Auchincloss intends to work to defend Title X, strengthen the ACA's birth control mandate, eliminate the global gag rule, codify Roe v. Wade into law, push for the elimination of the Hyde Amendment and support senators that will vote for "pro-choice federal judges."
Auchincloss supports federal legislation to ensure that workers can take up to 12 weeks of paid leave for a pregnancy, birth, adoption or serious illness of themselves or a family member. He favors increased federal support for the life sciences, a major industry in Massachusetts.
