In college, Cammack worked as a district office intern for then-Congressman Mike Coffman. After working on the campaign for Congressman Ted Yoho, Cammack served as his Deputy Chief of Staff from from 2013 to 2019. In 2017, Cammack co-founded The Grit Foundation, which works to generate community-based support for local first responders and hometown heroes.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Cammack wants to work to "...rebuild the American economy and [outline] a new set of policies to protect our country in the future. Our plan begins with an America First policy designed to bring pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, processing, and IT back home to America. Securing our supply chain and national defense has never been a bigger priority than it is now."

HEALTH COVERAGE

Cammack wants to see a full repeal of the ACA and would like to see it replaced "...with a system that calls for greater consumer choice and transparency. I will advocate for policies that will allow individuals to purchase health insurance across state lines, for tort reform, and for increased transparency in health care costs. Furthermore, it is imperative that we renew the relationship between patients and doctors and seek to remove bureaucratic barriers that pretend to have a better understanding of an individual’s health care needs."

VETERANS HEALTH CARE

While working for Rep. Yoho, Cammack "successfully led the efforts to secure four new VA clinics within the district," and "worked every kind of case you can imagine under the VA... [I] learned the shortcomings of the system, but more importantly how to fix them." She said Veterans need the respect that they deserve and earned, saying, "That means access to the highest quality of health care, education opportunities, and support services, no matter the cost."

WOMEN’S HEALTH

Cammack is pro-life and supports the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. She would make exceptions for rape and incest. She has been endorsed by the National Right To Life PAC and the Susan B. Anthony List. She said, "I personally am pro-life because my mother chose life when pregnant with me despite strong objections by her doctors and family for medical reasons. She was told she would most likely not survive the pregnancy. Even with the incredible pressure, she held firm and was able to deliver a healthy child safely. I thank her everyday for choosing life."

After winning the election, Cammack said, “Only in America can someone go from homeless to the House of Representatives in under a decade.” She was raised by a single mother. She says her family was evicted from their cattle ranch in 2011 due to the Home Affordable Modification Program, a federal loan modification program to help homeowners avoid foreclosure. They were homeless for several months. Cammack’s husband is a firefighter and SWAT medic.
