During her tenure in the U.S. House, Lummis served as chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy under the Committee on Science, Space and Technology. While serving on the Committee on Appropriations, Lummis was known as an “anti-appropriator,” often breaking with House leadership and voting against the chairman on amendments and bills related to raising discretionary spending caps.
