COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Feenstra supports funds for rapid COVID-19 testing for schools and workplaces. He does not support a federal COVID-19 mandate that closes schools or requires face masks.

HEALTH COVERAGE

Feenstra wants ACA repealed and replaced. He endorses a free market approach to health care, opposing a government "takeover" of care. He supports protecting people with pre-existing conditions while eliminating the ACA. Feenstra is in favor of eliminating third-party billing and hopes to increase competition and transparency together.

MARIJUANA

Feenstra supported the legalization of medicinal marijuana with restrictions but does not support legalization for recreational use.

MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION

As state senator, Feenstra supported adding more psychiatric beds for mental health care in Iowa. Feenstra supported Senate Study Bill 1187, which allowed counties within a mental-health service region to equalize—but not significantly raise—their property tax levies which go toward mental health care.
